Getting to know LTVAers

NEWBIES

Rich and Judy Nickolaus

(CB Handles “Twigpig” & “Geonerd”

They are from Oregon. The South Coast, Myrtle Point/ Coquille area. This is their fifth year coming down to Arizona, but their second year at Senator Wash.   They were in Page, AZ, two years ago and met a young family who had spent two months here. They told them how friendly people were and they had pot lucks and other events. They also told them how wonderful the fellowship was at the church. They decided that they wanted to check it out so last year they drove over here from Wellton, They were favorably impressed so decided to stop here for a month; that was in November.   Rich is a retired Deputy he NM aide. Judy retired from Real Estate. Yes, they are full time RVers. They love not having to worry about a stick house anywhere. Before coming to Senator Wash they traveled from place to place exploring and geocaching. They would boondock for a few weeks in different parts of Arizona. They had planned on doing that in New Mexico and Texas, but the weather was to bad this year. They first parked on Fish Tale Flats because it was Virtually empty. Then they met Karen (Paintbrush) and Kate. The girls invited them to join them on SnowBird Mesa. They feel the best thing about Senator Wash is the people.

OLD-TIMERS (Maybe)

Marty & Sue Anderson (Big Rig & Schoolteacher)

We are from Crooked River Ranch, OR which is on the east side of the Cascades and about 30 miles north of Bend. We watched Marty’s parents go south every year and said we were going to do that too. So after Sue’s retirement in June 2010, they took off after Thanksgiving for their first trip. They knew about Quartzsite, but Marty found Senator Wash on the computer. Originally we tried it out for 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks, then a season pass. We were first parked on the south end of Fish Tale Flats, then we moved to the north end, then to East Florida Flats and finally to South Florida Flats on Dolly Lane. I don’t think we could say what we liked most, because we like everything. However, the people are the BEST.
